“What’s your name?” … “go away” … “Go away? That’s a weird name.” | I think we all know of my affinity/love of good films, so when Emma & Dylan were down for a Blue Valentine inspired shoot, I was ecstatic. The chemistry between these two is so natural and effortless and they channeled their inner Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams for sure. If you haven’t seen the movie, I recommend it!
I just recently attended Phil Chester and Sara Byrne’s – Posing Theory – course and it has totally morphed the way in which I view connection. I love the more intimate moments in photos, but your subjects don’t have to be all over each other to tell that story.
Subtlety is something I’m working on bringing into my work more. Capturing the subtle narrative of love is so important. It’s the little glances or the way you look at them while they’re laughing – the things that aren’t so obvious, that make you say “WOW, they really love them”. Those are the moments I feel the luckiest to witness.
What are some things that inspire you creatively? Your favorite movie, the current show you’re obsessed with, a book you’re reading, your favorite artist releasing an amazing new song? I am so excited to continue evolving my approach and work this year, and can’t wait to lean further into the things that inspire me to keep growing.
