This whole experience with COVID-19 has been a whirlwind to say the least, but I left this session riding a high like only a great engagement session can give. Megan and Jake were my first session back after certain restrictions had been lifted, and I was stoked. Megan reached out to me last year about their wedding (which is on Halloween might I add, heck yeah), and I vibed with her right from the start, so I was so excited to meet these two for their engagement photos.
I asked them to create a playlist for our time together and they freaking delivered, (please PLEASE believe me when I say bringing along a playlist of music that resonates with you guys is such a game changer!) Anyways, I had the MOST fun with them on a Sunday afternoon at Purgatory Chasm State Reservation, we laughed for two hours straight. Really, we did, I’m not kidding. They are the best, and just what I needed to get out of the funk that dealing with COVID had put me in. We popped champagne, they took some shots of Fireball, and we captured some damn good moments while we were at it.
It felt SO GOOD to finally be behind the camera again, hanging out with these two who instantly felt like old friends. I love this job so much, and I am so grateful I get to do what I do. So here’s to officially kicking off the 2020 engagement/wedding season, it may look a little different this year, but believe me, we are all ready to celebrate all of your loves so hard.
