Since their engagement session over the summer, I could not wait to see Bliss and Steve again on their wedding day. Everything about working together had been so easy. B & S and their families welcomed us with open arms, where I felt like more than just their photographer.
The venue they chose was the beautiful Smith Farm Gardens. As lovers of historical properties and many site visits later, nothing felt right until touring here. I had shot here once before and it quickly became one of my favorite venues.
Bliss and Steve are very family oriented and their “wedding party” consisted of their siblings. They decided to forego a first look to see each other during the ceremony. Excitement and anticipation exuded all other emotions as they prepared to marry their best friend. I was standing by Steve when Bliss finally appeared at the end of the aisle. I heard him whisper “oh my god” when he saw her, and the look on his face was real life heart eyes. Tears and laughs as they exchanged vows that could only be described as “them”. You could feel the love and support radiating from their friends and families as they witnessed their union.
We partied the night away, up until the very end of the night. The DJ cleared out the tent for them to share a last dance together to close out their perfect day. Just the two of them under the lights, reflecting on their day. These two will always be special to me and I’m truly honored to know them and call them friends.
A message from Bliss:
“Needless to say, we couldn’t have asked for a better collection of images to capture the love and happiness that was wrapped up in that day. You just get us, and I can confidently say I never expected to find such a connection.”
