Heather and Steve were married on the actual windiest day of the year I think, but it did not deter them one bit! We started off the day getting ready, and let me tell you, Heather’s dress is one of my favorites I’ve seen while photographing weddings. The most flowy, airy, gorgeous gown from BHLDN. The most meaningful exchange of gifts between her and her parents had the tears coming early on in the day.
Their ceremony and reception took place at the Conanicut Yacht Club in Jamestown, RI. H & S had their first look on the dock at the yacht club, then we made our way to Fort Getty for their portraits. Right on the coast, we were quite literally in a wind tunnel, but these two embraced every second of it. (I mean wind makes for some pretty epic photos, no?) and these shots blew me away (yes I love all the puns haha)
A smaller wedding, such is the norm of 2020, Heather and Steve said their vows surrounded by a group of close knit friends and family, I’ve been loving the smaller, more intimate celebrations though. You don’t need hundreds of people around you on your big day, make it about you and the ones who you hold close to your heart, who’ve been there for you through it all. Hoping this “new normal” sticks around in years to come.
